The jaws open 11 ½”, but the maximum size of tree that can be removed will vary greatly depending on the size of the skid steer, type of tree, and ground conditions.
WHAT IS THE THICKNESS OF THE TEETH ON THE JAW? WHY ISN’T IT THICKER?
1/2” Grade 80 laser cut steel. Others often use use A36 steel. Grade 80 steel has a yield strength 2.2 times that of A36 steel. Additionally, every other tooth is gusseted to provide rigidity. These attributes allow the Virnig Tree Puller jaw to outperform inferior steel designs, even if they are thicker.
CAN I PULL OUT SMALL TREES WITHOUT SHEARING THEM OFF?
Yes, there is a hard stop at the tip of the jaw of the tree puller, leaving a small space between the teeth.
